Atomic Cat - Fly With Me

This tune is from a release called Trance Time. It appeared at Jamendo in January. Now, a warning...Fly With Me is anything but trance...in fact it hops.

I'm spending part of a rainy Sunday morning rediscovering the incredibly deep CC music site known as Jamendo. They have really been working over their user interface and have added some great features. If you have never been or its been a while, you should head over and check it out.

No duh, the amazing stuff that the ccMixter site brings forward every day is simply incredible. I went to visit today and found this absolute gem.

Ditto Ditto has already been featured on these pages and this little ditty, created in collaboration with Barbarella. It was posted on Sunday:

"This song has had many lifes (remixes), but, recently, Barbarella wanted to sing, wanted to try. So i’ve said..Ok, let’s give to this song another life. Barbarella had never sung before that, it’s the first time for her, to sing in a microphone. I’ve bought a new microphone for this occasion and we have recorded the voices last Friday, in only 2 or 3 hours..and after, i’ve played a new arrangement.
If you are interested, we have uploaded the acappella and the lyrics of Ani Casals on the Barbarella’s page.

Man, this song has been haunting me all week. I've been at a content management show in Boston all week. Big time corporate types realizing that all this 2.0 stuff has relevance in their world. While riding on the shuttle buses between the convention center and my hotel, I lost myself in a playlist that included some tunes from a Alpinechic release called Kill Alpinechic.

I'm so glad that the release included the song "Du und Ich". I just played it for my partner and she wants it in her workout playlist right away. Perhaps you will feel the same.

Followers of the blog will recognize alpinechic. Artists from the Swiss label that have appeared in this space include Tim and Puma Mimi, Freiraum, Pureape. They have a nice model of online CC releases and physical releases. And, if I was anywhere in Switzerland, you can bet that I would be at their live shows, too.

This tune is from a fantastic compilation of work by iDEOLOGY artists called iD.Allstars - "Re-iD.d" Compilation.

Bangguru is one of my favorites from this German netlabel. iDEOLOGY is not strictly Creative Commons, but their licensing statement has always been close enough for me.

The iD.Allstars release is currently top of the list listening for me. Check it out and enjoy this tidbit.

The second volume of this massively popular netlabel franchise was released on Valentine's day...appropriate, no? If you haven't had a chance to enjoy these volumes, then you should definitely hit up the link and then follow through and get volume 1. Soft lights, champagne and dirty, nasty, heart-healthy thoughts.

Fortyone - They're On The Moon Right Now

The Creative Commons music scene moves on...I take a break and come back to find old plunderphonic favorites, Fortyone featured on a BlocSonic release. Very cool. The release has a lunar theme that works well with our recent eclipse.

Michael Gregoire has a great concept of CC compilations that he has worked for 12 volumes now. Great work and you can find gems on every one of them.

I first enjoyed Fortyone when they appeared on several Comfort Stand releases. If you are new to netlabels, then take the time to check out the 71 releases that appeared on the Comfort Stand netlabel. You should be pleased.
