BSWC Podex #7: The Missing Link

Yo! I got a ahead of myself with #8. This one was waiting for the voice-over and got missed in the rush to #8. Omars Attacks! I love this release from Jamendo. It's called Strawberries from Outer Space and it has simply got everything going.

The set concludes with something from a release called Kraut Fuer Alle by Schäng Pfui & Mätes B. The tune is called Ich bin ein Muehlen Koelsch. These guys are from Cologne, Germany and the release is a must download. Enjoy the missing link.

Ambient Pills : As Promised

This is great chill out, inspirational, ambient. Nice full rich sound, gentle layering, and just stimulating enough that you could lay back in a nice leather chair at the end of a long night and freshen your brain.

BSWC Podex #8: Enjoy some nice music

Here is a quick 4 song Podex. It begins with Irene Bolis from Italy, continues with the Portable Folk Band out of Philly. Next it features two artists from ccMixter.org, Ashwan and cdk. It works for me. I hope you enjoy. Podcast Extra #8.

BSWC 9.16.06: CC Music from Around the World (The one-year anniversary show)

It is another Jamendo night at Black Sweater, White Cat. We are loving the new, Web 2.0 features that have been installed at Jamendo. The site just keeps getting better and better. I can remember when Subsystem sent me a link for Jamendo and it was a funky little thing that was all in French (it wasn't the language that was my main barrier, it was the funky code). Now look at you, Jamendo...You are so cool. The P2P thing can get a little goofy with the new releases, but you don't have to worry with the established releases. Once something is discovered, it gets seeded and the little P2P pods can do their thing. (I'm still a little "Ted Stevens" about the P2P magic). Someone should try to explain it to me sometime. Meanwhile, enjoy the fruits of my torrent.

If you are in the net neighborhood from 9:00 to 11:00, stop by and listen to the stream.

Tout en Un : Crisp Funk

Yep, that's right, that nice, crisp funk sound. These guys have it and it is nice to hear. 14 tracks on the release. Give Midnight Funk a spin and that should give you an idea of whether this one is for you.

BSWC Podex #006--Bringing back the podex

It has been some time since we have posted a Podcast Extra. The inspiration for #006 comes directly from Podcamp Boston. This is the unconference that was held last weekend at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston. Wonderful meetup of like-minded folks with podcasts on the brain. I began to think that the broadcast to podcast model that I have been following might be a bit stale. So I'm going to spice the feed up with some real, life, down-to-the-bone podcasting. Let me know what you think.

For those of you that subscribe to the feed or those of you who might, what do you think? Shorter, internet-only podcasts, reworked 2-hour broadcasts, or both? Leave a note or send a note to biotic@mac.com.

Thanks.

Replay of 2/18/2006

I had planned on doing a live show this evening, had some special picks that will just need to wait, but I will be too far out of town at a wedding to make it back for the show. So I hope you enjoy a replay of one of my personal favorite's BSWC 2/18/2006.

Subsystem7 out.
